From Fried to Fuel—A Strengths-Based Approach to Burnout Recovery

This interactive virtual session helps participants move from feeling fried to feeling fueled again at work. It blends research-backed insight with practical, strengths-based tools for sustainable burnout recovery.

Session overview

“From Fried to Fuel—A Strengths-Based Approach to Burnout Recovery” reframes burnout as an occupational and systemic challenge, not a personal weakness, grounding the conversation in data that shows most employees experience burnout at least some of the time. Through a mix of teaching, reflection, and coaching, participants learn how to recognize burnout, understand its root causes, and use their CliftonStrengths themes to recover in more effective, energizing ways.

What participants will experience

• A reality check on burnout that validates current stress levels while clarifying that core drivers include unfair treatment, unmanageable workload, unclear communication, lack of manager support, and unreasonable time pressure.

• A deep dive into how strengths can slip into “talent overdrive,” revealing the shadow side of themes like Achiever, Responsibility, and Empathy and how they can unintentionally accelerate exhaustion when misapplied.

• Guided breakout activities where participants explore how their Top 5 themes behave under stress and identify “strengths gone wrong,” then translate those insights into practical shifts in behavior.
